2 Best general career-advice videos with summary from two of most admired top-achievers!

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos:

1 Learn to accept and deal with overheads at work.

2 Find work that you’d love to do or learn to love what you’ve been working for.

3 Don’t get too fixated on your talents/gifts, as what matters the most is – how efficiently you’re using those gifts, in making sound choices in your life and career, to get ahead within competition.

Steve Jobs
  1. At the end of his first story, jobs says an important thing, here is the exact quote from his speech “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever..”. Which means, despite uncertainties, every life has very different characteristics and different milestones, which can be imagined as ‘dots’ which can be ‘connected’, in order to extrapolate upon to converge to a better future. So find out your dots looking back in time and try to connect them to form a better picture (brighter future).
  2. Here is another one from his second story which he says is about “Love and loss”..“You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.”
  3. The final punch is about death – the single ‘best’ invention of life as per him. Further he advises “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary..”

Hope this helps..
